Discrete-Euclidean operations

چکیده
In this paper we study the relationship between the Euclidean and the discrete space. We study discrete operations based on Euclidean functions: the discrete smooth scaling and the discrete-continuous rotation. Conversely, we study Euclidean operations based on discrete functions: the discrete based simplification, the Euclideandiscrete union and the Euclidean-discrete co-refinement. These operations operate partly in the discrete and partly in the continuous space. Especially for the discrete smooth scaling operation, we provide error bounds when different such operations are chained.

Two Discrete-Euclidean Operations Based on the Scaling Transform
In this paper we study the relationship between the Euclidean and the discrete world thru two operations based on the Euclidean scaling function: the discrete smooth scaling and the discrete based geometrical simplification.
متن کاملConstruction and detection of straight lines, distances, and circles in log-polar images
This paper investigates, how two fundamental measurement operations in Euclidean space, namely the construction of a straight line of given orientation angle and the measurement of distances along this line, are mapped to the non-Euclidean log-polar image plane. It is shown, how these two operations can be efficiently implemented for discrete log-polar images. The measurement operations are use...
متن کاملRemoval and contraction operations to define combinatorial pyramids: application to the design of a spatial modeler
Removal and contraction are basic operations for several methods conceived in order to handle irregular image pyramids, for multi-level image analysis for instance. We give the definitions of removal and contraction operations in the generalized maps framework. We propose a first experimentation of irregular pyramid as a basis for a discrete geometrical modeler that can handle both discrete and...
متن کاملSpatial Adjacency - a General Approach
It is fact universally acknowledged that discrete computing systems are ill-equipped to process vector-based spatial information: inexact line intersection calculations and similar geometric (co-ordinate) operations can not readily guarantee consistent graphical structures (topology). It is proposed here that use of Voronoi diagrams, especially euclidean-distance nearest-object Voronoi diagrams...
متن کاملProductivity Improvement of BOB T-shirt through Line Balancing Using Control Limit analysis and discrete event simulation (Case study: - MAA Garment and Textile Factory)
This study deals with line balancing of BOB T-shirt model with the help of control limit analysis and discrete event simulation of the assembly lines. In this study control limit analysis is used to measure the performance of the assembly line and used to show the bottleneck operations of the assembly line and line balancing technique improves the productivity of the sewing line of the model. ...
